Power Apps: Design | Nested Galleries


Power App canvas apps are extremely customizable. As makers build their business apps, they can connect to data from dozens of sources and output data records dynamically. An easy way to list these records, bind the data source to a gallery control:


“A control that contains other controls and shows a set of data… A Gallery control can show multiple records from a data source, and each record can contain multiple types of data… Each data field appears in a separate control within the Gallery control.”

With the data sources bound to a gallery, control aesthetics can be tweaked. And with more complex data, app makers can nest galleries. However, galleries can only be single-nested (presently). Multiple gallery controls can be nested within a parent gallery control, but Power Apps will not support deeper nesting.

Conclusion:
Yes, galleries can only be single-nested, but that is not a showstopper. Either nest a few more galleries within the parent control or navigate end-users to another page for further “nesting”. Often, business app data just needs to be reimagined a bit…
